Yang is an HCI/Ubicomp researcher. Yang started the ActivityStudio project at the University of Washington in 2005, to address
the increasing challenges that interaction designers and researchers face in designing and testing
user interfaces that employ rich contextual information. Yang designed and built the ActivityStudio tool
suite that includes ActivityDesigner, ActivityServer and ActivityStudio VM.

James Landay is a professor of HCI in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington
and serves as an advisor on this project. The project was funded through Prof. Landay's NSF grant
